Both the junior and senior Bruno Axemen broomball clubs will be traveling to national tournaments next month so they are holding a couple fundraisers this weekend.

Coach Ray Bender talks about the first of the two events.

"We're having a steak supper this Saturday. Supper starts at 6 o'clock, we're selling tickets for $25 a person and it's at the community hall. We would definitely like the support from whoever can make it."

They would like tickets sold ahead of time but it's not imperative. You can call Bender at 306.369.7631 or get them from any Axemen member. The Bruno Credit Union also has some for sale.

Bender talks about a bottle drive they will have on Sunday.

"I'm sure it will basically be in Bruno and some of the surrounding small farms but we won't be stretching out too far. If they can't be at home or won't be home it would be appreciated if they just set them outside. The boys will be driving around and we will pick them up Sunday afternoon."

The senior nationals are in Owen Sound, Ontario and the juvenile championships are in Arnprior, Ontario. The trips will cost somewhere in the $25,000 range so these events are crucial for the organization.
