The Humboldt Broncos had the Estevan Bruins in a 3-1 series stranglehold, but the experience of the Bruins has battled them right back in.

The Bruins have 9 returning players from the roster that made it in al the way to game 7 of the SJHL finals last year before losing to the Nipawin Hawks. The Broncos will have to bring the race to Estevan and run away victorious if they want to advance to the second round, just like the Bruins did in Game 6, coming away with a 4-1 win at the EPA.

In the first period, the Bruins put the Broncos on their heels scoring two quick goals. 2:22 into the game, Johnny Witzke jumped in from the blue line and picked up his second of the playoffs. Just three minutes later, Will Koop deflected in a point shot from Jake Heerspink and doubled the lead to 2-0.

The middle frame provided another Bruins' goal, as Devan Harrison knocked in a two-on-one pass from Jayden Davis shorthanded to give the Bruins their fourth shorthanded goal of the series and a 3-0 lead.

The Broncos tried to find some life in the third as Brayden Camrud scored to make it 3-1 and get the Broncos within two. That was the Broncos first goal in 116 minutes and 15 seconds of hockey, picking up their last goal in the first period of game 5, a game that went into double overtime. However, it wasn't enough to stage the comeback, as the Bruins snuck in an empty net goal, and snuck away with a 4-1 road victory.

It's often said the fourth win is the hardest in a playoff series, one team will find that win on Tuesday, March 26th in game 7.
