The Broncos will return home with a split on their two game swing through southern Saskatchewan.

Following a tight gripped sound road win in Weyburn Friday the Broncos were far less motivated Saturday in Estevan as the Bruins scored four times in the first and cruised to a 6-2 win.

Michael McChesney and Kyle Dosanjh each scored twice for the home side in the opening period.

Michael Korol snapped his eighth goal past Curtis Meger in the first to cut the lead to 4-1 heading to the break. Chris Van Os-Shaw and Luke Kempf picked up the assists.

Daniel McKitrick cut the lead in half with his 11th from Logan Boulet and Mathieu Gomercic at the 14:26 mark of the second period but that was as close as Humboldt would get, the Bruins scored twice more on the power-play in the third to seal their fate. Hayden Guilderson and Josh Reiger were the goal scorers.

"Very disappointing, I guess that falls on my shoulders here," Head Coach Darcy Haugan groaned on the post game show. "The things we talked about before the game, guys just weren't ready to go. We were spectators in that first 20 minutes. We had a good second period and tried to claw our way back in but we just didn't have all 20 guys dialed in."

Special teams were not that for the Broncos in the loss, they were 0/4 with the man advantage, the Bruins finished 3/7.

Garrett Mason was in for all six goals, he made 42 saves in the loss. Meger was tested far less, he made 27 stops in the win.

The Broncos are now 15-7-1 and sitting solidly in fourth overall in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League standings. They will host the Bruins on Thursday night, that is the start of a three game home stand which features the Bombers and Stars as well.

Elsewhere Saturday night, the Battlefords won their 11th straight, they downed Kindersley 5-2, Flin Flon outscored Notre Dame 6-4, Yorkton upset Nipawin 4-1 and Melville doubled Weyburn 4-2.
