It was a wild affair to cap off the 2018/19 Broncos season as fights and goals filled a 9-6 loss to the Battlefords North Stars.

The first period wasn't the Broncos best. Battlefords jumped out to a 3-1 lead with the lone Broncos goal scored by Michael Clarke's 28th to take over the team lead.

In the second period, the Broncos exploded for four straight goals  Cole Kirkup, Bryson Cecconi, Mitch Zambon, and Drew Warkentine all scored within four minutes to put the Broncos up 5-3. 16:12 into the middle frame, chaos ensued. Garrett Johnson of the Norhtstars tired to fight an unwilling Michael Clarke, that's when Drew Warkentine jumped into the mix to stand up for his teammate. Chase Lacombe then grabbed 6'6" 250 lbs Nick Shumanski as a dance partner and the two of them had a spirited tilt. At the end of all the madness, the Broncos ended up on a 5 on 3 penalty kill. which confused and infuriated the crowd at the EPA. On the 5 on 3, the North Stars scored twice to tie the game, and another late period goal gave them a 6-5 lead heading into the third.

In the third, Mitch Zambon picked up his second of the game to tie the back and fouth battle at six apiece. However, the Norhtstars sealed the deal with three of their own including an empty netter to skate away with a 9-6 victory.

The Broncos no know their playoff fate, as they will finish 6th and meet the 3rd seed Estevan Bruins in the first round.

The first round of the playoffs follows the survivor series and will start on March 15th.
