The Broncos were outraced by the hounds on Friday night. Simply put, it wasn't the Broncos night.

No team can be underestimated in the SJHL. The Hounds were welcomed by a Broncos team that came out of the gates flat footed

A goal from Marshall Wilton 6:16 into the game set the pace for the hounds. They would double their lead off the stick of Joseph Santalucia. The defenseman who began the season with the Humboldt Broncos, before being a cut casualty when the roster slimmed down.

The usual cohesiveness for the Broncos was absent. Missed passes, turnovers and lost battles to the pucks, dug Humboldt into a three-goal deficit. A shot form the point by Chris Bernard went through a maze of bodies before sneaking through a screened Rayce Ramsay.

The Broncos got on the board midway through the second when Camrud scored his 10th of the season. From there it looked like the Broncos might gallop right back into the game. Then a 5 on 3 pwerplay had it looking like they might be there in the next two minutes.

However, they would fail to capitalize on the 5 on 3 , and fail to recognize Noah Bankowski exit the penalty box. He waited just outside the box, behind the defense of the Broncos for a few seconds, until the puck was cleared out of the zone. He was then off on a breakaway and lifted the puck under the bar, over the shoulder of Ramsay.

It was a two goal swing. The Broncos, who were looking to cut the deficit in half, instead found it grow back to three.

From there on the wind was out of the Broncos' sails.

Rayce Ramsay who was making his first start at home following 3 road wins was pulled after the fourth goal in favour of Dane Dow.
Ramsay played just under 32 minutes and allowed 4 goals on 17 shots.

The Brocnos outshot the Hounds in the third 13-4, but the Note Dame Hounds were defensively sound as they kept all the action to the outsides. Whatever did get through was gobbled up by Hounds' goalie Andrew Henderson.

It simply put, wasn't the best game for the Broncos. Through 58 regular season games your bound to lay and egg. Friday's game was that, and one that the Broncos will like to run past.

Next game for the Broncos is Wednesday, October 17th as the head west to kindersly to take on the Klippers.
