The Humboldt Broncos added some experience through a trade on November 13th.

They have acquired 20-year-old forward Drew Warkentine from the Drayton Valley Thunder in exchange for a player development fee.

Warkentine, a Prince Albert native, suited up for 15 games with the Lloydminster Bobcats this year. He was traded to the Drayton Valley Thunder on November 10th, before being flipped to the Humboldt Broncos on the 13th.

The name may ring a bell, Warkentine suited up for six games with the Humboldt Broncos during the 2015/16 season before heading to the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL for the remainder of the year. He accumulated 92 games of WHL experience during his tenure with the Raiders before coming back to the SJHL, as a Melfort Mustang last year, where he collected 31 points in 36 games.

The Broncos are currently first place in the SJHL, three points ahead of second place Nipawin.
