The Humboldt Broncos and the Nipawin Hawks put on another show at the Elgar Petersen Arena in the final game of the season series.

After losing the night before 3-1 in Nipawin, the Broncos were looking for a split in the home and home set on January 12th and an overall split in the six-game season series.

It was the Broncos who raced out to the 1-0 lead with Brayden Camrud scoring the game's opening goal in his first game back after serving a four-game suspension. Camrud's goal was assisted by Bryson Cecconi and Logan Foster. The Hawks answered back with one of their own in their first period to tie the game at one apiece.

In the second, the powerplay, which was needing a boost, found the go-ahead goal. Owen Guenter was the finisher, assisted by Camrud and Michael Clarke after some beautiful passing saw all five power play Broncos getting a touch on the puck before finding the back of the net. Once again, the Hawks answered to tie the game at two. Another Hawks goal gave them their first lead of the game and looking like they would take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission. The Broncos, however, got a late second-period goal by Michael Clarke, who scored his 20th of the season assisted by Max Johnson.

The wild game would not disappoint the EPA faithful in the third. Another Bronco powerplay goal, this time scored by Logan Foster off a one-timer assisted by Mitch Zambon and Bryson Cecconi would put the Broncos up 4-3. Nipawin would pull the goalie to look for the equalizer, but Michael Clarke would seal the deal with an empty netter, his second of the game to spur the Broncos to a 5-3 victory over the Nipawin Hawks.

Dane Dow, who was making his first start since December 15th stopped 29 of 32 in the win.

Next up for the Broncos is another home and home set, this time against the Melfort Mustangs starting in Melfort on Friday, January 18th.
