Another first period being heavily outscored and a second short handed goal early in the second period sealed the demise for the Broncos leading to another long night on the road.

In Kindersley Wednesday, the Klippers scored a trio of first period goals and Jordan Evans beat Carter Seminuk just 3:22 into the middle period and that was more than enough for their second win over Humboldt in December.

Former Bronco Andrew McCann scored at 3:34 while five-on-five, at 8:54 Jake Gerbner notched Kindersley's first goal while down a man and then Carson Pickett scored with just over five minutes to play in the opening period while on the power-play.

"They're battling hard from what I'm seeing," Head Coach Darcy Haugan said defending his team's effort on the post game show. "It's just a matter of some poor execution, some poor puck luck, it's guys getting it back. I didn't think it was going to be this rough when we got Logan(Schatz) back but there's still a lot of kinks that have to worked out with us a group."

Humboldt came five seconds from actually being shut-out for the second time in two games versus the Klippers, the first time of the season the Broncos didn't score in a game was December 6th in a 1-0 loss to the Klippers at the Elgar Petersen Arena. Chris Van Os-Shaw tucked in a rebound while the Broncos were on a power-play and Seminuk was on the bench for an extra attacker. His Saskatchewan junior Hockey League leading 26th came from Brayden Camrud and Tristen Elder.

Haugan provided credit to the Klippers who are much improved since October.

"You make a mistake and all of a sudden they're pouncing and they score, their specialty teams are pretty good and they play defence extremely hard. They are playing really well in front of their goaltending, it's not a bad hockey team."

Each side finished 1/6 with the man advantage but the Broncos did allow a pair of short handed markers, they have now now given up eight this year, that's a league worst.

Seminuk made his first start since November 25th in net for Humboldt, he was on the hook for four on 31 shots, Justin Close was was just five seconds from an SJHL best fourth shut-out but he did win allowing the one on 34 Bronco shots.

With just a pair of home games left before the Christmas break Haugan is very proud of where his team is at, despite just a handful of wins in 15 games since the start of November they are still in fourth place overall.

"We've got to get relaxed, we've got to relieve the pressure some how here. It's not a matter of them not wanting to do well, obviously we've had some tough conversations, we really have so we're not avoiding it. I just think right now it's so important for us to stick together."

Weyburn is here Friday, it's ugly sweater and teddy bear toss night, Saturday is "Pack the EPA" when Melfort comes to Humboldt. Both are 7:30 starts.

Elsewhere in the SJHL Wednesday night, Dondre Watson scored twice in 13 seconds in the third to give Flin Flon a 4-2 win in the Battlefords, Yorkton edged Melfort 3-2 and Notre Dame downed Estevan 3-1.
