The Humboldt Broncos must be ecstatic that they are done with the Kindersley Klippers this season.

Wednesday night at the West Central Event Centre, Kindersley downed Humboldt 4-3 to take five of six games in their season series.

Head Coach Darcy Haugan gave credit to the Klippers and their attack during the post game show.

"We knew we were going to have to work extremely hard to get a scoring chance and I thought we were doing a lot of good things. There wasn't a lot of flow, it was really plugged up, you really had to have that second, third, fourth effort to generate any type of offence."

Kindersley drew first blood as Tyler Pickett slammed a first period rebound past Garrett Mason 7:36 in.

Humboldt responded before the first was out, Trevor Posch rifled a picture perfect wrist shot past Nick Trenciansky knotting the game at 1-1 with his 18th of the season exactly nine minutes later. Logan Schatz and Connor Swystun picked up the helpers.

The home side would restore their lead in the second, Cole Plotnikoff scored his first of two at 7:52 making it 2-1.

Posch went back to work in the middle period, after punishing Klippers defenceman Clive Rozdeba in his own zone he broke for a breakaway pass that hit him in stride but Rozdeba raced back putting the grasp on warranting a penalty shot. The 20 year-old from Leduc, Alberta beat Trenciansky to tie it 2-2 with his 19th goal and second of the night.

The deadlock didn't last long however, under three minutes later Brody Ryberg threw a seeing eye point shot through Mason putting Kindersley up 3-2.

Going to the third down one the Broncos tried to fight back but a pair of questionable major penalties tossed over sized wrenches into their plans.

Former Bronco Andrew McCann levelled Luke Kempf with a clear check to the head, penalized on the play it still lead to a five minute power play after Michael Korol went to his teammates rescue. Korol received an instigating minor, fighting major and a game misconduct. McCann was issued a minor and automatic 10 minute misconduct.

The Broncos would kill that off but just seconds after that Laramie Kostelansky was given a boarding major for a hit that left Kyle Donaldson on the ice.

The Klippers couldn't capitalize on that chance either.

Still within striking distance late in the frame a costly turnover in their own zone allowed Cody Hodgson to set up Plotnikoff in front of Mason making it 4-2 with 1:45 remaining.

Chris Van Os-Shaw would extend his league leading goal total to 33 with a late one making it 4-3 from Posch but it was too little to late.

The man advantages were heavily inflated for Kindersley, they were 0/5 on the power play in almost 14 minutes of time, the Broncos were 0/2.

Trenciansky was a few stops better than Mason, Kindersley's netminder made 29 stops in the win, Mason gave up four on 30 shots.

Humboldt will look to rebound Friday when Melville visits the Elgar Petersen Arena, face off is 7:30. The Broncos annual shoot-out auction will take place following the game.

The shoot-out itself will be Saturday after the game versus the Battlefords Stars.

Elsewhere in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League on Wednesday, Notre Dame crushed Estevan 8-2 and Flin Flon exploded for a 5-1 win in Melfort.
