Four Horizon Central schools will welcome teams on Friday as high school basketball regionals begin.

Middle Lake and St. Brieux earned the right to host both boys and girls tournaments. Lake Lenore hosts 1A boys teams, while Wynyard will welcome 2A girls teams.

Both Avengers squads will tangle with Nakoda Oyade, with the boys game at 4:30pm and the girls tipping off at 8:00pm.

The St. Brieux boys, ranked as the top seed in 2A, will meet Stobart at 2:45pm, while the fourth ranked Crusaders girls team battles LCBI Outlook at 6:15pm.

In 2A girls, the Wynyard Bears are once again the team to chase, as their top overall positioning will see them take on Kinistino at 6:00pm.

In Lake Lenore, the second ranked Lancers boys team will also host Kinistino at 8:00pm.

Other teams competing but having to travel for games are Humboldt, Lake Lenore, and Foam Lake girls, as well as the Humboldt and Wynyard boys teams.
