With a chance to upset the Moose Jaw Warriors Saturday night at home the Swift Current Broncos and Logan Barlage failed to move on in the Western Hockey League playoffs.

The teams will meet in Moose Jaw Monday night for game seven after the Warriors staved off elimination in game six on the road. The 16 year-old Humboldt phenom is seeing limited ice in the playoffs but essentially 2001 born players aren't even allowed to play full time at the WHL level until their midget season has ended.

Barlage is expected to be a regular next season for the Broncos, who along with former Humboldt Broncos General Manager/Head Coach Ryan Smith hope is still a ways off. The winner of Monday's contest meets Regina next in the Eastern Division semi-finals.

Meanwhile out west, another Humboldt product was making an impact. Kelowna Rockets' forward Reid Gardiner scored three times, including the game winner with 1:57 to play Sunday night in a 4-2 win over Imperial's Connor Ingram and the Kamloops Blazers.

The Rockets took the series in six games, the loss also likely spelled the end of junior hockey for Ingram, the 1997 born netminder is expected to make the jump to professional hockey next season somewhere in the Tampa Bay Lightning's organization.

The Rockets, which also include 17 year-old Erik Gardiner have beaten Ingram and the Blazers in back to back playoff series.

They await the winner of Portland and Prince George.
