Finishing the season with no losses, the Middle Lake Avengers Senior Boys volleyball team won the Horizon Central West league on Thursday.

The Avengers defeated Annaheim in two sets (26-24, 25-15) to win the league.

Annaheim advanced to the final after ousting Cudworth in three sets (25-23, 21-25, 15-7).

The West league consisted of teams from the three schools, as well as Humboldt's 'B' team. In the East league, Wadena takes on LeRoy, while Kelvington battles Muenster in the semifinals, which take place November 7.

Middle Lake and Annaheim will join HCI's two boys teams, as well as Dalmeny, Melfort, St. Brieux, Nipawin, Creighton and Birch Hills in Humboldt on Friday and Saturday, as the Mohawks host a home tournament.

Games begin at 3:30pm Friday, with the final game of the day starting at 8:30pm. Play resumes Saturday at 9:00am, with the final at 5:00pm.
