With the high school soccer season winding down, regional championships were held across the province on Friday and Saturday.

The top two teams out of each regional qualified for provincials, which will take place October 30 and 31.

On the boys side in Friday's quarter-finals in Muenster, Humboldt defeated LCBI 10-9, and the host Cougars shutout Allan 6-0. In the semi-finals, HCI fell 4-1 to Lake Lenore, while Middle Lake booked their ticket to provincials with a 3-2 win over Muenster.

In the final, the Avengers scored just ahead of stoppage in overtime, picking up a 3-2 win over the Lancers.

Provincials for 1A boys will be held in Lake Lenore.

On the girls side, Muenster shutout Birch Hills 3-0, while HCI dominated Moosomin to the tune of 13-0 in Friday's quarters.

The Mohawks clinched a provincial berth after they knocked off the regional host and defending provincial champion Middle Lake Avengers 2-0. Lake Lenore shutout Muenster 5-0.

In the final, the Lancers got past Humboldt by a score of 2-0.

Both teams advanced to provincials which will be held in Waldheim.
