Natasha Achter, from from Saskatchewan Team 1, lead her team to a victory in the Western Blind Curling Championship that took place in Lanigan.

The finals were on Saturday and her team won with a 5 - 1 win lose record for the 4 day event.

There were 7 teams in total that attended the championships: 2 from Saskatchewan, 2 from British Columbia, 2 from Alberta, and 1 team from Manitoba.

Achter told us, "There are medals and little keepers for first, second, and third [place]."

She also explained how blind curling works, "The sighted's play second and we have a extra person on the ice, which is a designated sweeper, so they sweep every rock and don't throw any. Shooting wise it depends on the player,...just verbal cues for our total blinds." Achter shoots from the close hog line.

The awards ceremony took place Saturday evening at 6:00pm.
