Skiers from Carlton Trail Ski Club collected some hardware at the Cross Country Saskatchewan Provincial Championships on the weekend.

The Provincial Championships took place on March 16th and 17th in Flin Flon. Carlton Trail Skiers Brayden Nivon from Lanigan along with Claire Gullacher of Englefeld competed in two races each over the two-day event, both bringing home two medals.

Nivon won Gold in both his Saturday and Sunday races while Gullacher brought home a Silver on Saturday, and a Bronze on Sunday.

"It was fantastic ski conditions, the weather was warm, around freezing, and both kids stepped up to the plate and did unbelievably bringing home four medals combined," said Coach Troy Gullacher.

The Provincial Championships wrapped up a season of hard work for both the skiers, which of course, ended in great success.

"We started our training back in September. We worked hard all year and it was great seeing the kid's confidence grow as the season went on. They're great kids, very coachable, and it was so nice to see the season end with some accolades as it did."

Hard work often pays off, and it certainly showed for Nivon and Gullacher at Provincials.
