Partners Family Services in Humboldt has announced a new program for parents with children up to 12 years old.
The Positive Parenting Program or Triple P will provide parents with practical strategies to manage children's behaviors, prevent problems from developing, and build strong healthy relationships.
Triple P coordinator Teryn Ulriksen talked about the background of the program.
"it's a great program that we are very excited about. It's an evidence based program, it's been around for over 30 years that came out of Australia and it's been tried and proven and it has had great success, so we're really excited about being able to offer that here at Partner's."
The independent program is funded by the Ministry of Social Services for all parents.
"Any parent that has children ages 0-12, it's for single parents, grandparents that are parenting, for child care givers, day cares, anyone that is interested in getting some extra tools in helping to deal with children ages 0-12," said Ulriksen.
Anyone wishing to get involved can contact Partners at 682-4135.
The program is important to have in place in the community said Ulriksen, "Every parent has struggles with their children, every parent has those times where they don't know what to and I just think this program's a great way to give families some extra tools to help manage some of that."
Partner's Family services also has a face book page called Partners Triple P with all of the program information.
