William “Bill” Arthur Meyers
August 29, 1957 – May 8, 2016

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Dad, Bill Meyers, at his home in Saskatoon, SK, on Sunday, May 8, 2016.  He was 58 years of age. Bill was born on Thursday, August 29, 1957, to Leonard and Doris (nee Hepp) Meyers in Humboldt where he grew up and attended school. He worked at the lumber yard for a couple of years after high school and then moved to Saskatoon.  Bill began work at Develcon Electronics Ltd. in 1980, where he was employed for over 16 years. He started out as a company driver and worked his way up to Warehouse Supervisor.  In 2001, he started employment at SARC as a shipper/receiver and worked there until 2010. Bill was hard-working and dedicated to his work. In recent years, he retired and enjoyed meeting friends at the coffee shop and going for early morning walks. Bill had a big heart and would always help out a friend and neighbour whenever   needed. He would often mow his neighbours’ lawn and shovel their walks without them even asking. He was always thinking about others and dropping off little gifts to let them know how much he cared. Bill loved all of his friends and family, his cat Shadow, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.  Bill will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his two daughters and three grandchildren:  Corissa (Kris) Lunde and their children Kaysen and Callie; and Sherri (Bill) Davenport and their daughter Avery. He is also survived by one sister and three brothers: Duane Meyers of Regina, SK, Reg (Marcella) Meyers of Saskatoon, SK, Sharon (Ray) Mitchell of Biggar, SK, and Randy Meyers of Saskatoon, SK; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Doris Meyers, and his brother Garth, who he missed every day.   The Funeral Service was held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, Humboldt, on Monday, May 16, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Fr. Demetrius Wasylyniuk, OSB.  Others taking part were:  Kris Lunde and Linda Letts, scripture readers; Emily Goring, piano tribute; Sherri Davenport and Corissa Lunde, urn bearers and eulogists; and Cara Morgan, memorial table attendant.  Interment followed at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be directed to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
