Verne Krahenbil


On December 14, 2015, Verne Krahenbil, of Strathmore, Alberta lost his courageous battle with ALS. Verne was born on April 24, 1949 in Estevan, Saskatchewan to Pastor Karl and Theresia Krahenbil. He grew up in Middle Lake, Saskatchewan and married Audrey Frederick in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on September 23, 1972.  Verne spent much of his work career employed at CIBC, Alberta Wheat Pool and most recently, Spray Air/NuVision at Carseland, Alberta. In past years, Verne was an active community member with the Carseland and Gleichen curling clubs as well as the Cluny Lions club. A lifelong Saskatchewan Roughriders fan, he also spent much of his time coaching his sons baseball teams, camping, golfing, doing puzzles and most recently enjoying time with his grandchildren.  Verne is survived by his loving wife Audrey of 43 years; three children Cory (Lisa), Chad and Tarlynn; five grandchildren, Joel, Carly, Emery, Kieran and Easton; four sisters, Sylvia, Dorothy, Lois and Sharon (Ken) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, older brother Marvin, and infant brother Ronald.
