Valerie Evelyn Stolz
August 28, 1962 – May 27, 2018

It is with profound sadness and totally broken hearts that the family of Valerie (nee Willis) Stolz of Humboldt, SK, announces her passing at her residence on Sunday, May 27, 2018. She was 55 years of age. Val was born August 28, 1962 to Douglas and Evelyn (nee Gillings) Willis at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. She grew up in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt Collegiate Institute. She went on to take her secretarial course at St. Peter’s College in Muenster. Not long after she had a job at Buschman Agencies and later with the CIBC where she became a familiar face to the Humboldt community for 23 years. She then decided to take her esthetic course so she could do nails out of her home. She went on to work at a few other places that she really enjoyed such as IGA, Thompson Travel, Scott and Weber Assoc. and Census Canada. All of these jobs fit her bubbly personality as she was able to interact with people. She returned to her first job at Hannigans Catering in 2007 where she had previously worked with her mother and sister, Dawn. At the time of return, she became an owner. She met the love of her life, Kim Stolz at the age of 14 and knew it was forever. Val married Kim on August 14, 1982. They built a house next door to the Stolz family farm in 1984. In 1985, they were blessed with a daughter, Sarah and again in 1989 with a son, Cameron. She enjoyed being a mother and providing for her family while helping her husband on the farm during seeding and harvest. They built a new home in 1999 on the Stolz family farm where she cherished every moment with her family and pets. She spent her time running around with the kids to bowling, dance and hockey, and spent many hours outdoors fishing, quadding, snowmobiling and taking trips to the cabin. She really valued her time spent with the family and saved up to take family vacations to Mexico, Las Vegas and Disney World as well as many other trips with Kim. Outside of family time, she enjoyed bowling in a league from a very early age, where she won many awards and went to nationals in Ottawa as a member of the Saskatchewan bowling team. Other hobbies included baking, canning, ceramics, camping, swimming, shopping selflessly for her kids and grandkids, and spending valuable time with her family and friends. In 2013 Cameron met Chantel and introduced her to Bella, Chantel’s daughter. Right from the start, Val considered Bella to be her granddaughter. In December of 2013, Sarah and Drew doubled her blessings when they had Brielle. In 2014, Cam and Chantel blessed her again with Ariel and in 2016 she received her first grandson, Raxtyn, son of Sarah and Drew. Val will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 35 years, Kim Stolz of Humboldt, SK; her two children: Sarah (Drew) Dale and their children Brielle and Raxtyn of Leroy, SK; Cameron (Chantel) Stolz and their children Isabella and Ariel of Warman, SK; two brothers and two sisters: Doug (Diane) Willis, Jim (Colleen) Willis, Patti (Brian) Graves, and Dawn Willis (Joe Schweighardt); father-in-law: Arnold Stolz; brother-in-law Marvin (Ellen) Stolz; sister-in-law Arlene Lockinger; sister-in-law Aileen (Ryan) Haeusler; and by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins. Val was predeceased by her parents Douglas and Evelyn (nee Gillings) Willis; sister-in-law Karen Willis; mother-in-law Verena Stolz; and brother-in-law Colin Stolz.
