Gregor Kehrig
January 7, 1939 – November 3, 2018

Gregor Joseph Kehrig, 79 years, of Bruno passed away peacefully at Humboldt District Hospital on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Gregor was born to Stephen and Josphine (nee Steffens) Kehrig on January 7, 1939 in the Bruno district, the youngest child of 12. He was baptized in Bruno Catholic Church, and went to St. Quentin School where he completed grade 8. He joined his brothers running Cat, clearing bush and building roads and then started farming in the early 60’s. Gregor met Hermina Laskowski at a dance in Humboldt and they were married on November 4, 1964 in the new Middle Lake Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children and three grandchildren. Gregor loved playing golf, cards and tinkering on the farm. He was part of many organizations: Wheat Pool Director, Co-op Board member, Town of Bruno Council, St. Bruno Knights of Columbus, Sask. Wildlife Federation and most recently was President of Bruno Golf Club. Gregor will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his three children and three grandchildren: Anne (Nelson) Stewart of Prince Albert and their daughter Daelyn of Saskatoon; Bradley Kehrig of Saskatoon; and Mark (Jan) Kehrig of Bruno and their sons Taeger of Saskatoon and Kallin of Regina; brother Henry (Elizabeth) Kehrig of Prince Albert and sister Olga Reineke of Saskatoon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gregor was predeceased by his loving wife Hermina; parents, Stephen and Josephine Kehrig; two sisters and seven brothers: Joseph, Arnold, Thekla, Alois, Edwin, Ben, Marion, Werner and Francis. The Prayer Service for Gregor was held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Both services were held at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Pius Schroh. Interment followed in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations in Gregor’s memory may be directed to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, St. Bruno Parish Restoration Fund or Bruno Seniors Center.
