Glen Scott Cunningham
August 12, 1952 – December 9, 2017

It is with broken hearts that the family of Glen Scott Cunningham of Lanigan, SK, announces his passing at Lanigan Hospital on Saturday, December 9, 2017.  He was 65 years of age.  Glen was born to Stanley and Verna (nee Gillespie) Cunningham at Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, August 12, 1952.  On November 15, 1975, he married Sharon Sivertson.  Their union was blessed with three children, Joshua (born on October 16, 1980), and twins Jordan and Justin (born June 7, 1985).  Glen was employed by Canada Post for 31 years.  During that time, he received the “Silver Postmark Award” for exceptional achievement.  Over the years, he also worked as a commissionaire, at Canadian Tire, the Lanigan rink, Humboldt Co-op C Store and, finally, at the Lanigan Esso.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching football, hockey, golf and soccer.  A loving and devoted husband and father, Glen cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with his boys.  He was also known as a true gentleman who was laid back, loved to laugh, had a young spirit, and was a kid at heart.  Of utmost importance to him was his relationship with Jesus.  “We will miss you every day, but know you are healed in heaven and there is no more suffering for you.  We love you Glen.  It was our privilege to have shared your life.”  Glen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 42 years, Sharon (nee Sivertson) Cunningham of Lanigan; their three sons:  Joshua, Justin and Jordan, all of Saskatoon; niece, Cheryl Cunningham; nephew, Clayton Penner; in-laws, Martha and John Morrow and family; Stanley and Terry Sivertson and family; Darryl and Pam Sivertson and family; Beverly (†) and Robert (†) Binding’s family; and by numerous friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Verna (nee Gillespie) Cunningham; brother, Garry Cunningham; sister, Joan Penner; and in-laws, Beverly and Robert Binding.  The Celebration of Life was held at LifePoint Church, Lanigan, on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Kevin Sawatsky and Pastor Lonnie Sims.  The scripture reader was Jordan Cunningham, and the eulogy was delivered by Josh Cunningham.  Memorial table attendants were Holly and Kelly Gibney.  Music ministry was provided by keyboard musician Brenda Bowman, and soloist Meghan Bowman.  Urnbearers were Stanley Sivertson, Darryl Sivertson, and John Morrow.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Memorial donations may be directed to either the Sask.
