Gerald “Jerry” Tegenkamp
February 22, 1946 – May 13, 2017

Gerald “Jerry” Tegenkamp, 71, of Wakaw Lake, originally of Bruno passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 13 at his home in Wakaw.  Jerry cherished the time he had with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He looked forward to their visits and always had a delicious meal prepared and waiting for them. His generous nature extended beyond his family to his friends whether it was lending a hand or a tool, providing a corny joke or enjoying a good game of cards, he could always be counted on as a friend and dad. The last 10 years of his life were spent at the home he and Jean built at Wakaw Lake.  After years of hard work as an electrician he finally relaxed and enjoyed fishing, family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, his ability to fix and build anything, his sense of humour, fantastic meals and a deep devotion to his family. Jerry is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jean (nee Bedard).  He leaves to miss him terribly his children and grandchildren:  Diana; Marla (Greg) – Lauren, Brittlyn, Hannah, Jett, Mackenzie, Emma, Addison; Ross (Tanya) – Jade, Cassidy, Seth; Joe – Tayt, Kayl; Amber (Stan) – Brooklyn, Ella, Hayden, Ethan, Jesse, Ava; and his faithful companion Oliver.  He is also survived by Bob (Lucille), Linda, Don (Linda), Neil (Marie), Colleen, Brian (Kathy), Gerry (Phyllis) and their families.  He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Noella, his sister Faye and parents-in-law Joby and Ada Bedard.  A special thank you goes out to his lake family.  A Celebration of Jerry’s life was held at St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Condolences for the family may be left at www.md-funeralhome.ca.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
