Frank Edward Tarnowski
November 20, 1932 – December 29, 2015

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Frank, at the age of 83. He passed away peacefully at home on his farm near Bruno, SK, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Frank was born on Sunday, November 20, 1932, to Mike and Lena (nee Twardy) Tarnowski at Bruno. He attended Pleasant Grove School near the family farm, and completed his education in Roblin, MB. After spending time working as a laborer in construction in Saskatoon, he decided to purchase a farm, be his own boss, and continue the farming tradition. Frank loved hunting and fishing, but most of all he cherished spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Frank was devoted to his wife Evelyn and was a huge supporter in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. Frank will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Evelyn (nee Petersen) Tarnowski of Bruno; two sons, two daughters, and four grandchildren: Alan Tarnowski and son AJ of Airdrie, AB; Brian Tarnowski of Nipawin, SK; Cheryl (Mark) Elder, their son Keegan and daughters Kyla and Keana of Wetaskiwin, AB; and Denyse Tarnowski of Saskatoon, SK; also one brother, Peter (Mary) Tarnowski of Cudworth, SK; two sisters: Pauleen Brezden of Creston, BC, and Veronica (Morris) Chysyk of Edmonton, AB; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Lena (nee Twardy) Tarnowski; four brothers: Roman, Mike, John and Tony; and by three sisters: Caroline, Mary and Josephine. The Prayer Service for Frank was held at St. Bruno R.C. Church, Bruno, on Friday, January 1, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., led by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Scripture readers was Mary Lou Eastman and the eulogy was delivered by Alan Tarnowski. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Bruno R.C. Church on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Others taking part were: Theoder Ogibowski, crossbearer; Theresa Ogibowski and Jeannette Petersen, scripture readers; Judy Stahl, intentions; Cheryl Elder and Denyse Tarnowski, giftbearers; Katherine Kramer, memorial table attendant. Music ministry was provided by organist Denise Krentz and the St. Bruno Parish Choir. An honor guard was formed by members of the Bruno Lions Club. Honorary pallbearers were “all those who shared in Frank’s life”. Active pallbearers were Keegan Elder, Mark elder, AJ Tarnowski, Marcian Tarnowski, Roger Stahl and Sylvanus Wolman. Interment followed at St. Bruno R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either the St. Bruno R.C. Church and Cemetery Fund or the Bruno Seniors Centre.
