It is with great sadness that the family of Eva Valentina Sunderland (nee Boymook), 81 years, of Quill Lake, announce her passing on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Humboldt District Hospital. Eva was born in Perdue, SK, on February 1, 1937 to Thomas and Annie Boymook. She was the second youngest in a family of four brothers and one sister. In 1943, she started school in Perdue, but due to the depression and dry years, the family moved to Penticton, BC where her dad did carpenter work. In 1948, they moved back to the prairies to farm in the Drummond Creek district near Battleford, SK. There she attended a one room school until grade 10. In 1953, she went to boarding school in Three Hills, AB, for her grade 11 and 12, and took a business course. After graduating in 1955, she worked in Calgary on business machines for Osborne’s Book Store and later for the Municipal District of Rockyview. In 1956, she went back to Three Hills where she attended Prairie Bible College for two years. In 1958, she moved back to North Battleford and worked for Ashdown Wholesale Hardware for four years and later at Maher Agencies for 11 years. In 1972, she married Eldine Sunderland, who farmed in Quill Lake, SK. They had two boys, Donald and Neil. Eldine passed away at the age of 88 on November 21, 2016. They were married for 44 years. Eva accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of eleven. She was a member of the Quill Lake Evangelical Free Church and during this time she taught Sunday School for 15 years. She also guided Bible Studies for over 20 years in many homes in Quill Lake. She was the church treasurer for over 26 years. Eva enjoyed gardening, reading, music and working with people.
