Elsie Marie Bader
June 29, 1937 – November 13, 2018

Elsie (nee Nordick) Bader of Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, SK passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. She was 81 years of age. Elsie was blessed with many gifts, one of which was music, Elsie played piano and sang in a band as a young adult. Elsie’s avid love of gardening was passed onto her children and grandchildren and was shared by volunteering many many hours at the Lodge Heritage Garden. For years Elsie made dried flower arrangements that were shared with family and friends, she also sold and was commissioned to make many arrangements. She was also talented at cake decorating. Elsie was a seamstress and could make her own patterns and outfits and sewed many of them for her children. She was also talented at upholstery. Being an excellent cook her family always stopped by checking the fridge to find what goodies may be waiting. Elsie was a devout Christian and a member of the CWL for many years. Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Con Bader; children and their families: Dianne (George) Graf and children Curtis (Rose) and their children William and Allison, Meagan (Tyson Behiel), Brett (Chantelle) Graf; Colleen (Randy) Haussecker and children Brendan (Riley) and son Lincoln, Joshua (Brittanee) and their children Courtlyn, Landon and Emersyn; Brian (Joanne) Bader and children Caleb and Jillian; Dan (Kim) Bader and daughter Monica. Elsie is also survived by her two brothers Ron (Karen) Nordick and Edward Nordick; and three sisters: Hilda Bader, Agnes Jacobs and Henrietta (Wally) Murray. A Prayer Service was held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Watson, SK at 7:00 p.m., presided by Fr. Francis Akomeah. Scripture Reader was Pat Bakstad. A Eulogy was delivered by Colleen Haussecker. A Funeral Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Watson, SK on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Francis Akomeah. Others taking part were: Pat Bakstad, crossbearer; Monica Kirilenko and Rosemary Nazar, scripture readers; Jillian Bader, special reading; Courtlyn Christianson, Amazing Grace soloist; Kathleen Brown, intentions; Maria Strasser and Leyna Strasser, giftbearers; Karen Bader and Carol Paetsch, memorial table attendants; Laurie Sproule as music director with members of Sacred Heart Parish Choir, music ministry. An Honor Guard was formed by members of the Catholic Women’s League. Honorary Pallbearers were: Agnes Jacobs, Henrietta Murray, Hilda Bader, Angie Bader, Mary Morhart, Ron Nordick and Ruth Vidak. Active Pallbearers were: Curtis Graf, Brett Graf, Brendan Haussecker, Joshua Haussecker, Caleb Bader and Tyson Behiel. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Watson, SK. Memorial Donations may be directed to the Quill Plains Centennial Lodge Heritage Garden.
