Edmée Korsberg

It is with great sadness the family of Edmée Marie Germaine Korsberg (nee Clermont), 67 years, of Lanigan announce her passing at Humboldt District Hospital on June 12, 2017 with her loving family by her side after a 2 year struggle with cancer.

Edmée was a highly skilled, professional psychiatric nurse with 45 years experience in the Saskatchewan health care system in the front line, in management, in program development as well as working for a private sector company at the end of her career. Edmée found team-building and motivating her staff as crucial in the health care industry, and she prided herself in being an excellent communicator, collaborator and a visionary leader. Edmée was a lifelong learner, continuing to attend the University of Saskatchewan and SIAST as an adult learner. She was known as being a hard worker, well known for her integrity and placing the focus on satisfying both internal and external clients/customers and patients. Outside of her work days, Edmée was also a member of the Alzheimer’s Association of Saskatchewan in the 1980’s; the Gerontology Association of Saskatchewan , the Palliative Care Association, the Community Development Society of Saskatchewan; the Interhospital Domestic Violence Committee; the Rolling Hills District Health Board (1993-94); the Swift Current District Health Board (1993-94); The Hub Youth Centre Board (2009-11); an organizing member of the Family Life Education Cooperative (1980) and Brownies/Girl Guides of Canada (1978).

Edmée is survived by her husband, Larry and her two daughters Shauna Johnson and Cyndi Sparvier; her grandsons Mackenzie Johnson and Tye and Aidan Sparvier. She also leaves behind her step-children Gwenda Strachen, Calvin Korsberg and Karen Spetz and their families. Edmee leaves behind her sisters and brothers Yvonne Jalbert, Cookie Jacques, Ron Clermont, Diane Huyghebaert, Lucie Clermont, Arthur Clermont and Paul Emile Clermont as well several loved professional colleagues and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Theresa Clermont, her sister Joe-Anne Reid and her nephew, Chad Clermont.

When she wasn't working or visiting numerous family through the prairies, Edmée found her happy place in her garden paradise in Lanigan. She moved to Lanigan in 1994 with her husband, Larry Korsberg as she began working for the Living Sky Health District.

Edmée requested a service for family and close friends in her garden oasis, which will be followed by a community gathering with refreshments at the Lanigan Community Hall/Recreation Centre on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, Sask., S7N 4H4. The family would like to sincerely thank all those who visited during her final days, as well as those who cared for her at both the Humboldt District Hospital and Royal University Hospital.
