Donna and Dwayne moved to Lanigan in 1969 where Dwayne started his career at Lanigan Potash mine. He was very respected and knowledgeable in his field. Some of his favorite ones included driving up to Alaska, visiting Hawaii and salmon fishing with Darcy on Vancouver Island. Dwayne was big on reminiscing , you would often hear him say, "I remember when ---cost only --- cents. " The 1950's was the absolute best time to grow up according to Dwayne! Dwayne grew up in an era where nothing went to waste. He was known to love the food that no one else would eat. Burnt toast and hard cookies were among the favorites. The sardine juice was well loved and no meat was ever left on the bone. Dwayne was a self taught carpenter and all around handy man. With extensive collections of mechanic and carpentry books and magazines. He enjoyed building many things in his shop and perfection was the only option. Plan, re-plan, think, then execute and measure twice, cut once, were words to live by for him. In remembering Dwayne, the following qualities exemplify the man: honor, loyalty, ethical, trust worthy and strength. The family wants to thank all those who touched his life. He is not apart from us, but a part of us.
