David Earl Miller
February 2, 1949 – October 21, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of David Earl Miller 67 years of Jansen announces his peaceful passing on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Lanigan Hospital.  David was born in Kerrobert, SK on February 2, 1949 to Edward and Barbara (nee Weber) Miller. He obtained all of his education in Kerrobert.  Upon graduation David started working at the Paper Box Factory in Saskatoon.  He then went to Industrial Sales where he worked as a sales, shipper, and warranty clerk for 10 years.  For the next year David was employed with ASL Paving as a parts man.  He then returned to Kerrobert, where he began working in the parts department at Jackson’s Sales & Service a Massey Ferguson dealership in Kindersley. Also while in Kerrobert David ran a Taxi Service and second hand store in partnership with his brother-in-law for one year.  David then was accepted at Kelsey for power engineering where he obtained his 4th class certification and found employment at Lanigan Hospital in March 1986 and worked there until retirement in 2011.  He continued working there casually for as long as his health would allow.  David was very active in the Lanigan Legion.  He also enjoyed golfing with his Lanigan friends.  David loved reading and collecting books such as western and science fiction. He also enjoyed curling in his younger years.   Once retired David took up bowling in Jansen, he bowled in a senior, mixed and men’s league. His best performance was an average of 200+. David will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his mother Barbara Miller of Kerrobert;  four brothers and three sisters: Patricia (William) Lauinger of Saskatoon, Carolyn (Leon) Doetzel of Kerrobert, Robert (Leana) Miller of Bradwell,  Sandra (Wilfred) Evenson of Kerrobert, Edward (Cheryl) Miller of Bradwell, SK, Richard (Melanie) Miller of Eckville, AB and Dale (Laurie) Miller of Martinsville; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; David was predeceased by his father Edward Miller and nephew Kim Lauinger.  A Funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from Assumption Of Our Lady Roman Catholic Church, Kerrobert.  Celebrated by, Father Doug Jeffries. Interment followed at Kerrobert Cemetery. Memorial Donations in David’s memory may be directed to Kinsmen Telemiracle or Royal Canadian Legion - Lanigan Branch.
