Daryl Lynn Weber
July 19, 1959 – October 5, 2017

The sudden and unexpected passing of Daryl Lynn Weber of Lanigan, SK, occurred at his resident as a result of an accident on Thursday, October 5, 2017.  He was 58 years of age.  Daryl was the eldest son of Lloyd and Ellen (nee Shantz) Weber.  He was born on July 19, 1959, at Taber, AB, and following his adoption by Lloyd and Ellen in January 1960, resided with his parents in Kindersley, SK, Fort Nelson, BC, and Whitehorse, YT.  Daryl completed his high school education in Whitehorse.  The family then moved to Grande Prairie, AB, and later Daryl attended Mount Royal College in Calgary, AB, where he received a diploma as a youth worker in 1986.  After being working in various group homes, his latest job was at a public school in Saskatoon, where he was employed as an Educational Aide assisting special needs students in both the elementary and secondary school system.  That was truly Daryl’s calling, as he had a big heart filled with empathy and genuine concern for those who were struggling with a variety of difficulties, and it was very important to him to do his utmost to make a difference in the lives he touched.  In April 2016, he moved to Lanigan to be closer to family and had continued to reside there until his untimely passing.  Daryl is survived by his son, Daryl Kip Weber; mother, Ellen (nee Shantz) Weber; brother, Myron (Leah) Weber; brother-in-law, Andy Joanisse; special friend, Sandra P.; cousin, Shirley; foster brother, Ken; foster sister, Janelle; and by many other relatives and friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Lloyd Weber (2015); sister, Cherlyn (nee Weber) Joanisse (1995); paternal grandparents, Abram and Mary (nee Burkholder) Weber; maternal grandparents, Wesley and Loretta (nee Toman) Shantz; and by many other relatives and friends.  The Celebration of Daryl’s life was held at Christian Fellowship Church, Lanigan, on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Tim Peters.  Interment followed at Lanigan Public Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be directed to either Gideons or the Christian Fellowship Church (F & E Fund).
