Bruce Hueser

March 6, 1967 – August 12, 2017

Bruce was born in Humboldt growing up a farm boy in Pilger with hogs, cattle and grain. He attended Elementary school in Pilger; then Middle Lake High School before leaving to start his career in trades. He helped his father on many carpentry jobs, farming and with the cattle. He soon attended Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon and received his Journeymen's in carpentry. He began working at Fraser Contracting in Humboldt and then travelled from Calgary, Fort Mack, Estevan, to Toronto in 1988 working on the Sky Dome. It was through these travels that he received tickets to work as a Journeyman iron worker. He never left his love for the farm far behind, coming home to help his father and taking jobs with several uncles in seeding and harvest. Bruce had a range of interests...his tops priorities were his cars and his sleds, he could often be found in someone's garage preparing for grass drags. After a tragic snowmobile accident Bruce stayed closer to home. He acquired some rental property and did odd mechanicing and carpentry jobs. Keeping his house on the farm, he traveled between friends and family’s homes looking for stability. He had tranquil days at Pike and Emma Lake. He enjoyed meeting new friends and keeping Pork Chop busy chasing geese. He had a love for family history and a memory for detail. Bruce always had a kind hand for the elderly and his nieces and nephews. With his friends you were sure to get a bright smile; a boastful story and a slap on the back! Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his mother Helen Hueser of Pilger; three sisters and their families: Beverley (Lorne) Schmidt of Humboldt and family Chantale (Ryan Yeager) of Saskatoon and Shaun (Shaunna) of Humboldt, Shelley (Russell) Back of Muenster and family Bailey of Saskatoon and Lane and Clay, both of Muenster, and Susan (Steven) Pylot of Meadow Lake and family Sage, Sommer-Anne, Sierra, Sydney and Stephanie, all of Meadow Lake; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Bruce was predeceased by his father Donald Hueser (June 19, 2017); maternal grandparents John and Katherine (nee Aschenbrenner) Sterner and paternal grandparents Louis and Anne (nee Freriks) Hueser. The Graveside Funeral Service for Bruce was held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pilger district, officiated by Fr. Joseph Salihu. Memorial donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to Mental Health and Addiction Services c/o Royal University Hospital Foundation or St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
