Broncos Strizzi and Tritt among SJHL weekly award winners
The Humboldt Broncos moved back into the top spot of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) standings after posting three victories last week at the Elgar Petersen Arena. For their efforts, forward Jacob Strizzi was named the SJHL’s SGEU MVP of the Week, and Charlie Tritt received the Sasktel Goalie of the Week award. Last week, Strizzi collected 6 points (2G-4A). Despite having his goal scoring streak end after 8 games, the Vaughn ON product scored the lone goal in the shootout to give the Broncos a 4-3 shootout win. Strizzi leads the SJHL in points (26) and goals (16) and has posted at least one point in each of his last 13 games. Tritt had a 2-0 record last week, earning back-to-back wins over Nipawin and Flin Flon. The 20-year-old netminder had .939 SV % and a 2.40 GAA. This season, Tritt leads SJHL goalies in wins (9), SV% (.949), shutouts (3) and is second in GAA (1.88). Next action for the Broncos is Saturday when they head to Kindersley to meet the Klippers.
