Wayne Franklin Rowe
July 7, 1940 - August 15, 2022

It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden and unexpected death of Wayne Franklin Rowe, 82 years of Humboldt. His passing occurred at Humboldt District Hospital.  Wayne was born on July 7, 1940 at Davidson, SK to Howard and Edna (nee Woodman) Rowe. He obtained his elementary education at Kipp School.  Wayne then graduated from Luther College in Regina.  He furthered his education by being accepted into the Agriculture Program at the U of S which he did for two years and then transferred into Education.  Wayne took his first position as a teacher at Antler, SK.  A move that was meant to be, as this is where he met the love of his life Jeannine McEvoy. After a whirlwind courtship they were married in Antler on August 10, 1963. From this union four children were born. Pamela, David, Alison and Bryan.  They moved to Moosomin and then Weyburn before heading east to Minnedosa, Manitoba where he taught until retirement at the age of 55. During his career, he taught high school and junior high math and science but especially enjoyed his time with the grade 6 and 4 classes. In Minnedosa, he also served his church in various positions and always loved to listen to gospel music on Sundays. Their next stop was to Brandon, MB in 1988 and lived there until 2011 when they moved to Humboldt to be closer to family.  Wayne was always on the go and kept busy; when he was supposed to be “off” he would take the family on adventurous vacations or dabbled in various business ventures. Wayne had a passion for cars, right from a young age he would be doodling cars. He could have had his own parade with the over 50 cars he owned during his life. However, he did have one favorite: a 1966 Mustang GT convertible which he kept for over 35 years. He was a walking encyclopedia, when it came to cars, Wayne knew everything there was to know about a car.  He loved visiting and sharing his knowledge about cars with anyone he met. He taught his children patience because he would talk to total strangers for an hour while they waited in the car. And he taught them to be kind and caring because he  was always helping people in need. Wayne also loved music especially “pure country music.”  He was part of the Weyburn Junior high school staff’s jug band, The Raisins. He was a wordsmith who also composed poems for special occasions. Wayne will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, JEANNINE, of Humboldt; four children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren: PAMELA (Jason) and her children Macailyn (John) and their daughter Juliette, Lindsay (Kelvin) and their daughter Adeline, and Rowan (Izabella); DAVID (Cheryl) and sons Eric and Aidan; ALISON (Trevor) and her children Tyson, Aleta, Elizabeth Harvey – and Trevor’s daughter Kristen (Phil) and their son Oakland; and BRYAN (Tammy); also his “Good Lad” Ace; brothers and sister: Hugh (Bea) Rowe, Carol (Dale) Barlow, Clay Rowe; sister-in-law Thelma McEvoy and all of their families.  Wayne was predeceased by his parents Howard and Edna Rowe; parents-in-law Bert and Norlene (nee Johnston) Harries; sister-in-law Judith Rowe; and brother-in-law Lynn McEvoy; As per Wayne’s wishes there will not be a funeral. An interment will follow at a later date at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Brandon, MB.  Memorial donations in Wayne’s memory may be directed to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or a charity of your choice.
