The Saskatchewan Health Authority is once again restricting visitors to the Rosthern Hospital among fears spawned by rising COVID case counts. The SHA released the restrictions in a statement on January 20.

Visitation in the hospital is restricted to those attending for compassionate reasons. Those include family or support persons during end-of-life care, major surgery, intensive care/critical care, maternal/pediatrics, long-term care residents whose quality of life or care needs are unmet or those inpatients and outpatients with specific challenges.

No other visitors will be allowed into the facility at this time. Family members entering under the compassionate visitor guidelines will need to submit to a health screening, involving a temperature check and a questionnaire, prior to entering. Hand hygiene with sanitizers will be required as will medical grade masks.

The measures will remain in effect until the Health Authority deems it safe to return to previous guidelines.
