On October 25, the Humboldt Regional Newcomers Centre announced their “Share the Warmth” initiative.

“We’ve been doing this initiative to a certain extent for the past 8 years now,” said Executive Director of the Humboldt Regional Newcomers Centre Janine Hart. “So this year we thought, let’s try and reach out, and maybe help everybody that our organization aims to reach, and that's anybody that's in need of warm clothes as we enter into winter.”

The Newcomers Centre has free winter clothing and accessories for anyone in need, in order to stay warm this winter.

“They don’t need to present themselves to us at all, they can just come on by,” stated Hart. “[People] can help themselves to whatever is on the stand outside.”

Clothing can be picked up outside the Humboldt Regional Newcomers Centre office located at 636 9th Street, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

The Centre is also accepting donations of new or gently used winter clothing, boots and accessories. All ages and sizes are welcome.

“We just want to thank everybody so far who has donated. We've had an amazing response this year, so it's been overwhelming for us, and we’re very thankful.,” stated Hart.
