Who knew drinking a bunch of beverages could help fix a bathroom?

On Saturday night at the Quill Lake Community Hall the Quill Lake Wine, Scotch & Spirits Event took place. The sold-out event of 225 people was filled with drinks, food, prizes and music.

The event has taken place six years in a row with the funds going towards a community project each year. In 2019 the funds are going towards the bathroom upgrades in the community hall with an estimated expense of $15,000.

"We are replacing everything. The toilets, the sinks, flooring, lights, stalls, and basically as much as we can get done with the funds raised," said Marla Brataschuk, commitee of the Wine, Scotch & Spirits Event.

Tickets were at a cost of $25 apiece with a people able to tasting tables for alcoholic beverages from brands in and outside of Saskatchewan. People could also purchase raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items. The blackjack table and a musical performance from Cattle Drive also entertained the community.

In years prior to this, the event has raised money for the fire hall and the hockey rink in Quill Lake.
