It was wall to wall poutine on the menu and wall to wall raffle prizes for customers at the special poutine bar fundraiser for Humboldt’s own fastball player, Hailey Stadnyk. The event was held Sunday afternoon at the Bella Vista in Humboldt. Stadnyk has been tirelessly fundraising to support her trip to Riverside, California in November for a major 100 team ball tournament that attracts college scouts and recruiters.

It’s a rigorous process to get on the watch radar for NCAA schools in the sport, and Hailey and her parents have been helping to file the paperwork and send scouting materials in advance of the event.

Meanwhile, a full house of patrons enjoyed the poutine fare and visiting with the Stadnyks. A host of generous local business donors helped fill the tables with raffle prizes. Those businesses included: This Is Your Computer, Modern Meats, Red Apple, Ideal Treasures, Office Experts, Home Hardware, Pattison Agriculture, Hergott Farm Equipment, Misty Gardens, Dairy Queen, City of Humboldt Aquatic Centre, Sobeys, Dollar Store, KMK, Diamonds of Detroit, KFC, Canalta Hotel, Boston Pizza, Johnny’s Bistro, Quality Tire, Pharmasave, and a long list of friends and family.

The 50/50 draw of $175 was won by Craig Olynick who turned his winnings over to Hailey for her trip.
