Hot on the heels of the HCI St. Patrick’s Day Pancake Breakfast comes another great morning meal, with an even greater opportunity. The Lake Lenore Lions is hosting a special pancake breakfast at the Bella Vista on Sunday morning, with an eye to provide Humboldt residents with information on a proposed Lions Club International Chapter in Humboldt.

Beryl Bauer is with the Lake Lenore Lions Club, and he explains their presence in Humboldt.

“What we’re trying to do is find out if there’s enough interest in the community of Humboldt to start up a Lions Club once again,” Bauer explains. “They had one up until 2001 and we’re missing a lot of opportunities to serve the people in the community of Humboldt and surrounding area.”

Bauer says the Lake Lenore sponsoring club has 10 prospective members signed up already, but they need at least 20 to start a chapter. He’s hoping that the breakfast will introduce more men and women to the possibility of joining.

The breakfast goes at 11:00 am and is open to anyone to attend. Any adult over the age of 18 can become a Lions Club member and be an important part of a community based, international service organization.
