The biggest difference between being live in the studio and live on location in a public place is when you're on location, everyone turns their head and looks at you. That's obviously not the case when you're doing a show from the studio.

Monday I traveled to Cudworth to spend the afternoon live on location in the arena for the artificial ice kickoff event, which had the Prince Albert Raiders travel for an hour-long practice followed by a public skate with the Raiders.

As I'm standing behind the Bolt FM booth I was approached by a young girl and her older brother. "My sister wants to know if you are actually on the radio while you are here"

"Yes, I'll be going live in about 10 minutes," I replied.

So 10 minutes went by, I did my on-air break from the arena lobby and the young girl watched me as I talked on the radio.

"That was so cool!"

Later on, as I was preparing to do another live break from the arena, a couple young boys noticed that I was preparing to go live as I reached for the microphone. So they slowly made their way to my table to observe.

I do another live break. The young boys smiled afterward and said I did a great job.

It's reasons like this that I love what I do. All afternoon I was blowing the minds of young children as they watched someone talk on the radio and putting visuals on something that usually only has audio.

They also seemed to enjoy the stickers I was handing out just as much as they enjoyed watching the radio.
