It’s been a beehive of industry on Muenster’s southeast side as SaskEnergy crews continue work on the installation of a new natural gas distribution station.

Casey MacLeod, supervisor of media relations for SaskEnergy, explains that the expanded station is part of SaskEnergy’s ongoing maintenance and improvement program.

“The existing station at that site was getting a little outdated, and with the growth in the area, we were seeing the need for increased capacity for the natural gas system. The new station will handle the increased capacity and will accommodate future growth and allow for better efficiencies in the area.”

The station receives high pressure natural gas from the system and reduces the pressure for residential and business delivery.

Work has been going on at the station site for much of July. The plan is to have the installation complete in a week followed by a week of clean up and reclamation work. The new station serves the needs of Muenster and provides additional capacity for surrounding rurals.
