It was another busy morning for Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue on June 2 as the service responded to a structure fire 10 kilometres west of Wakaw. The call came in at 7:35 am, and two engines, two tankers and a command unit responded to the scene. Cudworth/Hoodoo Fire and Rescue also attended.

On arrival, responders found a multi-story unit fully engulfed as the fire began to spread to nearby structures. The first order was to defend those buildings and stop the fire from spreading.

Fire fighters brought the blaze under control within a few hours, but they remained on scene during the day attending to hot spots. There were no injuries reported, and no damage estimate is available at this time.
