The temperatures have finally turned the tide. According to Environment Canada Meteorologist John Paul, we are in for some nicer weather this weekend.

"We are looking at a warm up, not a huge warm up but a warm-up, to temperatures at or just above average for this time a year coming in this weekend and continuing through the end of February and the first couple days in March."

Paul says that February has been a very cold month about 8 degrees colder than average. He also makes mention that March is a time for some big winter storms due to the mixing of the warm and cold air. Looking forward to the next few days there are no storm systems on the weather models.

The old wives tale that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, or vice versa, may not hold any scientific reasoning but we can only hope this means that the nice weather will stick around for a bit.
