The vaccine for COVID-19 is arriving earlier than expected in Saskatchewan, with the first dose being administered tonight in Regina. Following the approval of the Pfizer vaccine by Health Canada on December 9, the phased approach will see front line health care workers in Regina among the first to receive their first dose and subsequent booster.

The first health-care workers to be vaccinated are:

  • Dr. Jeffrey Betcher, Critical Care Lead, Saskatchewan Health Authority, Regina & Area
  • Leah Sawatsky, Emergency Room Nurse, Regina

A short Q&A will follow the administration of the vaccine.
