Jeff Burton, a local comic book hero, also known as Auroraman, and daughter Kyrra Burton are headed off to Regina this weekend for the Sask Expo Regina, where they will be guest creators.

The Show takes place Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 at the International Trade Centre.

The Burtons got to talking with Bolt FM Morning Show host, Calum McAnally, with Jeff saying he is excited to return to the expo.

“We are excited to be back in Regina for SaskExpo. This is the first one since all our pandemic times, so we are happy to get back at it and very honoured to be invited as creator guests.”

Jeff and Kyrra have been to many Expos, but this will be Kyrra’s first time attending an Expo as a guest creator.  Kyrra released her first issue in Auroraman only a few months ago.

“I’m pretty excited, but honestly a little nervous,” said Kyrra.

The Auroraman booth will have lots to offer, says Jeff.

“We are going to have all of our most current issues that are available, so up to issues 7, 8, and 9. We’ve got some cool buttons and pins, some artwork and one of the cool things I have this time is a variant colour of issue #7 that was done by an artist out of Calgary, Hugh Rookwood.”

The Auroraman booth isn’t the only form of entertainment there, says Jeff, as there is lots to see and do. Celebrity guests will be visiting the Expo, such as Ryan Hurst, Ross Marquand, Leroy & Leroy and Roger Clark.

“They will have panels where they talk about their work, and it’s always fun to see that kind of stuff, and just get a glimpse behind these bigger productions.”

Jeff says his favourite part of attending the expo is checking out ‘Artist Alley’ and talking to other creators, while Kyrra is looking forward to just attending.

“Since we haven’t been able to have a con for the last few years, I've been missing it pretty bad. I’m just excited to see everyone and seeing all the cosplays.”

Kyrra has been preparing to release her second issue, and Jeff has been working on issues #10 and #11 of Auroraman.

“Issue #10 is a lot of fun, the main story in it has been around for a while, I wrote it very early on. I’m excited to now be able to just about have it out there.”
