The Annual Lake Lenore Fisher Smoker is back for the 2023 catch. The popular community event attracts people from far and wide with its beautifully willow smoked fish, smokies and refreshments served throughout the day.

“The event is put on by the Community Hall Board in conjunction with the Lake Lenore Wildlife Club,” says Scott Lessmeister, one of the organizers. “The proceeds are split between the hall and the wildlife group, so the event helps fund both those organizations.”

The event starts at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 14 at the Lake Lenore Community Hall. The smoke tenders will be supplying regular runs of this year’s whitefish catch from the Lake. For those interested in turf to go along with their surf, smokies and cold beverages will be served.

“The Wildlife Club is going to have a lot of mounts there - deer, elk, moose for everybody to take a look at,” Lessmeister says. “There are also 50/50 draws and other draws going on throughout the day.”

The day wraps up with a DJ Dance in the hall for adults for a $5 cover charge. If you’ve missed the smoker over the past couple years, time to come out and celebrate its return this Saturday.
