The City of Humboldt has been flourishing over the past year, according to the latest Communities in Bloom report.

On Monday at City Hall, Humboldt city council received the 2018 Communities in Bloom report. Humboldt scored a total of 744 out of 1000 points this year.

Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit group that fosters civic pride, environmental responsibility, and community involvement. Communities are judged in six categories and totaled up afterward out of a score of 1000. The report also includes suggestions on possible improvements.

"We've looked at a number of improvements. One thing they pointed out is the flower pots downtown, another is Christmas decorations, banners, and have the fire hydrants covered with broncos colours be redone," said Humboldt's Mayor, Rob Muench.

Last year Humboldt did not take part in the review. This year, Humboldt took part in the provincial contest after participating in the national competition two years ago.
