Chayton Currie, a 10-year-old bowler from Humboldt, will be travelling out to Oshawa, Ontario this weekend to compete in Youth Bowl Nationals for Bantam Boys Singles and represent Saskatchewan.

The 2022 Provincial Champion has been bowling for five years. Chayton took a break for a year from bowling due to the pandemic but has since returned to sweep the competition. Averaging 110 points in the beginning, Currie has tightened the reins and has improved to average above 150 points, completing countless 200+ point games.

Chayton practices, and hones his skill year round, constantly improving his game.

“Ever since the tournament, [I practice] two days a week, but it just used to be every Monday.”

His father, Ryan Currie, also a bowler, got his son into the sport. Ryan has taught his son the ropes along the way, coaching him at a young age, and as much as he can on the road while taking him to tournaments.

Chayton is excited to get to Oshawa and show off his skills at nationals. You can see his game live on the Youth Bowl Canada live stream.
