The Horizon School Division announced on November 17 that PreKindergarten to Grade 12 enrolment has risen to 6,561 students as of September 30, 2023, which includes 170 home-school students not enrolled in a Horizon school.

The number is up from 6,527 students in 2022 and marks the third consecutive year of increased enrolment for the division.

“It is a privilege to be entrusted with the education of children, and we understand the responsibility that comes with this trust,” said Kevin C. Garinger, Director of Education. “Horizon School Division’s staff and Board of Education are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where every student can achieve their full potential.”

Schools with an increase of enrollments of 10 percent or more include Cudworth, Robert Melrose Elementary, and Horizon’s home-school students. Schools that saw a 10 percent or more decrease include Drake, New Horizon Hutterian, Punnichy Elementary Community, and Sask Central Hutterian schools.
