This week Humboldt Collegiate is having a spirit week for Halloween! The spirit week was put on by the HCI SRC. I'm a huge fan of spirit weeks because I feel students can connect with the school better and for anyone that feels left out it shows them that they don't have to feel left out.

Here is the schedule for Spirit Week! On Wednesday, we kicked off spirit week with Pajama Day where students could wear there Pajama's to class. I don't like wearing my pajamas outside my bed because I feel like they should only be used for bedtime and not to wear to class.

Yesterday, we did our own version of the old reality TV show called Fear Factor. For those of you who don't know what Fear Factor is it is a show where people would try gross and scary things to try and win $50,000. Unfortunately, we didn't compete for $50,000 on HCI's version of the show but it was still a lot of fun. One of the challenges was where students were separated into groups of four and tried to stick your head into a box of spaghetti and try and find candy eyeballs.

Today was jersey day! No, nobody dressed up as the cast of Jersey Shore but it was still great! I wore my Eli Manning New York Giants jersey from when they played in Super Bowl 42! There were a variety of jerseys from hockey to football.

Spirit week continues on Monday, with a surprise game and a performance from a surprise band at lunch. I don't know who the band is or what the game is so it'll be exciting to see what happens!

Finally, on Tuesday students can dress up in their Haloween costumes and if students bring cash they can have a special Halloween Hot Lunch! I've outgrown the costume phase of my life but I still go trick-or-treating cause who doesn't like to collect candy on Halloween?

I can't wait for the next spirit days which will probably be before Christmas. It'll be exciting to see what is planned for that week. Annually, we have a Grade 12 vs Teachers hockey game which should be a lot of fun!
