Pink Shirt Day, held on February 24, celebrates kindness and support for all in an effort to stomp out bullying. The annual day was born out of an incident of bullying against a student wearing a pink shirt. In response, a pair of class supporters bought pink shirts and wore them. The gesture has become a national phenomenon with thousands of kids and adults wearing pink shirts with slogans seeking to stamp out bullying.

Students and staff in schools have been frequent participants, and this year was no different.

In Bruno School, students were encouraged to practice kindness and, of course, to wear pink  During the day, Canadian authors Eric Walters and Sigmund Brouwer hosted a virtual Pink Shirt Day presentation for grade 3 - 10 students, while Grade 9 student Logan Weiman hosted a school wide virtual reflection on the history of Pink Shirt Day. The presentation also provided students with information on what bystanders and victims can do to intervene in situations of bullying.

Here are some pictures of students and adults in area schools to demonstrate that students do not tolerate bullying.
