While the Equip to Care Radiothon is going on, teams were spinning on the spot to churn up more money raised for the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation.

The Four-Hour Spin Relay took place at Anytime Fitness on April 10th, which was also day three of the Equip to Care Radiothon.

The relay consisted of teams of four on spin bikes each riding for an hour. The teams were raising pledges in the month prior to help add to the funds going towards equipment needs at the Humboldt District Hospital.

"We had a fantastic turnout, it was a wonderful time. We had 13 teams participate, and everyone was supporting the cause, collecting pledges. The total amount we raised from the relay was $22, 865," said HDHF Executive Director, Lorrie Bunko."

The total amount raised prior to day three of the Equip to Care Radiothon was $20,751. Add in $8,715 of day three monetary donations, the $22,865 from the spin relay, and a few early day-four donations, gives the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation $56,516.

"We are very happy with where we are at. It's 10 dollars at a time for us, so this fifty-six thousand dollars is fifty-six thousand more than we had last Friday. We are always very grateful for everything that we get, and are very thankful for our donors."

Although everyone was a winner throughout the spin relay, Tom's Axls was the team that spun up the most cash through pledges, raising $5,030. The best-dressed team was awarded to Conexus.

As the Equip to Care Radiothon wraps up its final day, it's safe to say the care has been shown by Humboldt and the surrounding area.
